Welcome to the Online Application for applying for entry to the BA (Social Care) programme, NUI Galway 2012.
Please note that the Online Application is for new entrants to the Social Care programme only. If you are a past-graduate of the Social Care programme, you should contact the Social Care Team directly.

Closing Date for application to this programme is 5pm, Monday 16th July 2012.

There are two steps in this Application Process:

2. Supporting Documentation Required:

1.
A typed statement of approximately 400-500 words outlining your Social Care experience is required.
It is vital that as much detail as possible is provided, as applicants are assessed on the information provided within the application.
Experience can have been gained in either a formal or informal capacity.
For example, formal experience would include employment(s) as a care worker with a statutory, voluntary or private body.
Informal experience could include caring for an elderly relative, a sibling with a disability or voluntary work with marginalized individuals in the community.

2. Those who wish to undertake the BA in Social Care and who are under 21 years of age on the 1st January 2012 must be eligible to matriculate. Please submit Leaving Certificate results or other School Qualifications.

3. Certified Copy of Birth Certificate.

4. If you wish to register in your married name a certified copy of your Marriage Certificate must also be submitted.

5. A non-refundable Administration Fee of €30 bankdraft/postal order only payable to National University of Ireland, Galway.

6. Non-EU nationals must provide Residency Status Documentation.

7. Applicants for Admission to the University who are native speakers of languages other than English must satisfy the University that they will be able to follow courses taught in English. Such applicants should have attained a satisfactory standard in a recognized examination and should send in this Exam Result.

Also: If applicable and (if you indicated this on your online form) written confirmation of sponsorship/payment of fees from your organisation must be provided.

Please note that if you are offered a place on this course you will be required to apply for Garda Vetting/Police Clearance.
