Learning Community
Minot State University has implemented a comprehensive First-Year Experience program (FYE).  This program is designed into a three-course cohort model, or learning community.   Two of the courses within the learning community are established academic courses, whereas the third course is structured as a first-year seminar dedicated to assisting students with the challenges and expectations of higher education.  The first-year seminar is academic in structure, but also provides vital information to assist students in the transition to college.  The cohort of courses is also designed to keep students engaged in classroom learning, campus life, and the community.
